Things to be seen Simachalam : Earlier it is said that Simachalam is a famous Hindu Pilgrimage. Abatar of lord Vishnue came to the earth in disguise of Narasingha. Building there the temple the image of Narasingha is being worshiped. The structural system of the temple is really noticeable. Not as other temple it is a quadrangular temple. It was built assembling touchs stones and is prominently impression of Drabirian artistic skill fullness in respect of architecture and sculpture. The head of the temple is round in shape and it is resting on the 16 pilers. Offerings placed on Kalpamstambha barren woman become pregnant. Different stories of puran are engraved on the body of the temple.
It is said that, at first devotee Prahallad established the image of Nrisinghadeb. Then due to carelessness it was lost. After a few years while digging heaps of soil some one of Chandra dynasty recovered it. On the occation of Akshoytritia he again established the image and began to worship regularly. In the year 1268 by the order of the king of Bijoynagore present temple and the large house for dramatic representations and other things was built. The temple is made of valuable black touch stone. It is known that Srichitannya stayed here for a few days.
Spending a huge amount Rani Ahallya Baye made stairs consisting of 1120 steps from the foot of the hill and up to the door of the temple. Recently Andhraprodesh Government seized the temple and maintaining it.
There is a engraved image of Lord Buddha on the wall of the temple. Seeing it some think that it was a Buddhist shrine and temple in the past. Later by addition and alteration it turned into a hindu temple. In the inner apartment of the temple the image of Nrisinghadeb is being established and worshiped.
