What things to
be seen Nagarjunkonda :
Nagarjunkonda is an ancient Buddhist cultural
centre.It’s establishment and prosperity began during the reign of Ikshubaku
dynasty. It began to fall at the falling of Ikshabakhu.
At the 14th century there built a large and
stronge fort sorounded with stone walls.
Open
Rangamancha : Due to digging work on government
cost in the year 1954-1961 it was possible to discover the remaining of an open
Rangamancha. It’s adjacent area was 240 sq.m. At a time about one thousand
spectator can see dancing or theatre sitting on the surrounded stone built
galary.
Island Musuam :
It is newly built. T was built at government cost
to hold on the skil fullness of ancient architecture and sculptural works. At
the middle of a tank this Island and on the
top of the hill in a charming natural environment this musuam was built. From
the begning of 2nd century the architectural and sculptural works of
deferent periods preserved here very carefully. The architectural works of the
Musuam building is also remarkable. It was built copying the Buddhist Bihar
(temple). It remain open from Saturday to Thursday 9.00 morning to 12.00 noon
and 1.00 noon to 5.00 afternoon. Friday closed. Ticket Rs 10.00. There is
saystem to go to the island by speed boat.
Archiological
Musuam : Here preserved the architecture and
sculpture of 2nd and 3rd century Ikshubaku dynesty,
various industrial work of Chalukka and Badami dynasty an instant of Buddhist
sculpture. The main attraction here is charming sculptural artistic Buddha
murti made of white stone. It remain open from 10.00 morning to 5.00 afternoon
on Saturday to Thursday. Friday closed. Ticket Rs 10.00.
Nagarjun Sagar Dam
: From Nagarjunkonda 11 km at a distance on Krishna river the Nagarjun sagar dam has been buit. It is
the highest dam of the world and is one of the noted in this area. It is also
one of the multipurpose river planning of India . It is more than 400ft high
from the sealeble. It’s water tank is also large. It is build on 19000 hector
of land and it’s water capacity is 6700 laks qubic litters. A large area of
cultivated land is being irrigated here by digging two large canals on both
sides of the dam.
The length of the dam is 4.800ft. The electricity made
from this water used in different works of the locality it is also used as
controlling flood. It remain open from Saturday to Thursday from 9.00 morning
to 4.00 afternoon. Friday closed.
Arkvally : It is a place with charming natural beauty of Purbaghat hilly area.
It is about 1300 mts high from sealevel. Generally such a beautiful valley like
a picture sorounded with hill and gathering of green is not found. The climate
here is also healthy. So naturlovers assemble here most of the month of the
year.
